Christmas Is Coming…

Do you remember the old Christmas children’s rhyme:

Christmas is coming
The geese are getting fat
Please put a penny
In the old man’s hat.

If you haven’t got a penny
A ha’penny will do
If you haven’t got a ha’penny
Then God bless you.

I guess the message of this traditional rhyme, handed down over the generations, is that as well as our looking forward to Christmas and remembering to make our own Christmas preparations early, the festive season is also a time for us to think of others, those less fortunate than ourselves, to be charitable.

And the festive season is indeed fast coming. Our geese and Norfolk Bronze turkeys are indeed getting fat!  It is less than two months to Christmas Day, and time to start thinking about orders for festive fare.  That’s why we have this week launched our own Christmas menu at Top Meadow Farm so that you can make those important preparations in good time. The full range is on our website, but if you want to order something really different or special, ask our butchers.  And let us all remember as well that in this year of all years, in these difficult and challenging times, we also need to think of others less fortunate, and how we can help them to have a Merry Christmas too.
