On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th June our gardens will, once again, open up for charity under the “Yellow Book” National Gardens Scheme (NGS). But this time it will be an open day with a difference…….as well as our beautiful and extensive flower borders and terraces, our walled vegetable garden, polytunnels, greenhouse and orchard, plant sales, and, of course, home-made cakes and other refreshments, we shall also be showcasing our farm animals and Top Meadow Farm butchers!
The NGS garden open days nationally raise huge amounts of money for health and social care charities each year, and we are proud to continue to support them. Our gardens at Stone Farm, Alverdiscott Road, BIdeford EX39 4PN will be open from 2.00pm to 5.00pm on the 26th and 27th June. All are welcome, there is easy parking and there is no need to pre-book, just turn up!
But this time we are offering something different!
Farm Manager, Rob, will be showing visitors our Red Ruby Devon cattle, our Lleyn, Hampshire and Devon and Cornwall Longwool sheep, and our Gloucester Old Spot pigs and explaining how we work our traditional, organic chemical-free farming system, and the clever butchers from our Top Meadow Farm shop will be offering our delicious, own recipe sausages and beef burgers from the barbecue to make it a really special day out for all the family.
You are all invited to visit us and enjoy our gardens set in the beautiful and tranquil North Devon countryside, and find out more about our farming activity. Also, in this year of all years, what could be a more appropriate good cause than to raise funds for health service charities? We are all working hard to make this an afternoon out with a difference. Please come and join us!
