Our organic mutton is produced from our own 100% grass-fed Lleyn sheep who originated in the Lleyn Peninsula in North Wales. They are a hardy breed with sweet, flavoursome meat and carry less fat than many other sheep.
Diced mutton is a firm favourite with our customers. It is full of flavour and has a stronger, “gamier” taste than lamb. This makes it ideal for those warming autumn and winter casseroles or stews, served with baked potatoes and winter greens. Alternatively you can stew the diced mutton with onions and carrots and when the meat is starting to break up, reduce the stock and, covered with mashed potato, turn it into a delicious Shepherd’s Pie!
