Horseshoe Gammon Joint


Locally Bred West Country Pork

Our gammon joints are expertly cut from the hind legs of specially selected, locally farmed pigs which have been cured in a special brine mix to bring out the full, traditional flavour of this classic cut of pork. Traditionally a Christmas or winter dish, our gammon joints make a flavoursome family feast at any time of year. Always soak the joint for a few hours or overnight to reduce the saltiness, then either boil or boil and then bake in a hot oven with a honey, mustard, maple syrup or other glaze. The joint can be served with its own cooking juices or with a parsley sauce, baked or roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. And what is more the cold ham left over from your gammon feast will make sandwiches or a delicious meal or soup the following day.
